This article from Reuters says apartment rents are now the highest they have been since 2007 and vacancies are at a 10 year low. This seems to be consistent with what we are seeing at the Houston apartment complex.
Here is where I detail my adventures in real estate. It's meant for people who want to get into this investment area but need some encouragement, help, or just a general push in the right direction. Hopefully, by detailing all my experiences, you'll see it's really not that difficult or scary.

Hey I really like your post – lots of good information. Just out of curiosity, do you use virtual assistants for real estate investing? I came across this website and wanted to know your opinion of it – www.realestateinvestingwithvirtualassistants.com do you think it looks like a good idea?
I've never used personal assistants, but I first heard about them a couple years ago when I read The 4-Hour Workweek by Timothy Ferris. I don't know if I would be comfortable using them for REI simply because of the large sums of money involved in REI. Do you want to invest thousands of dollars on the advice of someone whose level of real estate education you have no idea about? Maybe if I worked with one for some time and checked his or her work for an extended period of time to see if they came to the same conclusions I did, I might gather enough trust to take their recommendations.
But from what I've read, virtual assistants pretty much just scour the internet for information. That's something I can do just as easily on my lunch break, after work, or on weekends.
Hey Shaun,
What other books do you recommend to read? Maybe you're top three?
Thanks,
Jason
Hm.. That's a tough one. And I don't think I would necessary recommend The 4-Hour Workweek. I'm assuming you are looking for books relating to real estate investing. I'm going to think about it a bit and make a separate post about this topic. Hope you don't mind the wait.
