Those cabinets sure do make a difference. I believe you said the old ones were warped(?), but they were also dark, which really cause a negative appearance. These new cabinets are lighter in color, which really opens up the kitchen. Good job!
BTW, even though you went through hell with the contractors, your persistence has paid off in the form of higher appreciation. Way to hang in there!
Yeah, even with all the problems, I'm glad I replaced the cabinets. They lighten the place up and make it look more modern. The old cabinet doors were warped and they didn't close right. And there were hooks and stuff stuck on them from the previous owners. What's strange about this kitchen is that with both the old and new cabinets, there is only one drawer! I don't know if anyone will notice that, but it's strange. I suppose if I was thinking about it, I could have had the end cabinet to the right of the sink made into a column of drawers. But I have a feeling this house is going to be purchased by an investor rather than an owner-occupant, so I don't think the lack of drawers will be an issue. Don't know why I feel that way, but I do.
I totally agree, the new cabinets coupled with the new appliances significantly improves the feel of the kitchen. I think doing both was better than one without the other (synergy, whole greater than sum of its parts sort of thing). Looks good!
What a difference! You've convinced me to do the same thing to our House 1--that is, if we decide to sell it. The cabinets there are dark, too.
Congratulations!
